The main factors that affect the performance of precision steel ball

- Jun 25, 2018-

Precision ball is widely used in the field of bearings, electronics, iron arts, machinery and equipment, power, mining and metallurgy. The performance of different precision steel balls is not the same, which will be affected by many related factors.

First, the material density will have a certain impact on the performance of precision steel balls. As a result, steel balls of different materials often have different application ranges.

Secondly, the manufacturing method of precision steel balls will also have a certain impact on its performance. In comparison, rolled and forged steel balls have a dense structure, so the density is high. The cast steel balls, cast iron balls, or cast alloy balls that are cast are not dense, and even have pores therein, so the density is small.

In addition, the precision steel balls themselves have different metallographic structures and their final performance is not the same. For example, the densities of different crystal structures such as martensite, austenite, bainite, and ferrite are also different, which also affects the crystal fineness.

In addition, the chemical composition of the precision ball is different, and its performance will be different. Because of the different chemical compositions such as iron, carbon, chromium, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus contained in the finished steel balls, the hardness and impact wear of the steel balls have different degrees of influence. Under normal circumstances, when the amount of chromium is large, the wear resistance of the steel ball is high.
