GCr15 bearing steel ball heat treatment Introduction

- Mar 28, 2018-

GCr15 bearing steel ball not only has high compressive strength and fatigue limit, but also has high hardness and wear resistance, and has a certain degree of toughness. In comparison, this GCr15 bearing steel ball also has a good hardenability, the control of sulfur and phosphorus is extremely strict, and it belongs to a kind of high quality steel material.

Analysis of the requirements for the organization of GCr15 bearing steel balls:

The GCr15 bearing steel ball is a type of steel ball with a very small amount of alloy, good use ability, and a very wide range of applications. The high-quality bearing steel material has been manufactured through a series of processes, especially after quenching and tempering, which can achieve high and uniform hardness, good wear resistance and high contact fatigue performance.

Under normal circumstances, the original organizational requirements for the GCr15 bearing steel ball mainly include two aspects, one is the higher purity required, that is, the steel contains less impurity elements and inclusions; the other requirement is uniform organization. That is, it is required that the non-metallic inclusions and carbides in the steel should be finely dispersed and uniformly distributed.

In general, the performance of GCr15 bearing steel balls should meet these requirements:

First, the GCr15 bearing steel ball is subjected to a long diffusion anneal at a high temperature of 1,200 to 1,250 degrees to play a minor carbide segregation. And in the hot processing, we must reasonably control the furnace atmosphere. Secondly, the billet heating temperature of the GCr15 bearing steel ball should not be too high, and the holding time should not be too long, so as to avoid serious decarburization.
